SONIC SOUL!
“If I lose it all
Will you still be there for me?
If I no get money o
Will you still be loving me?
If you knew my weakness
Will you stand by me?
Ti wan banba mi je o sho ma shey kpe leyin mi?
(Will you be my baby? I will be your lover)”
Adekunle Gold and Simi got married over the last week and we were all not invited and it is okay, we are not pained at all. To commemorate their union, they have released a single together, perhaps something that signifies their vows?
A few pleasant keys from a piano starts the song, it gave the song this live band performance feel. This goes on for a short while then followed by a short burst of drums and the Adekunle starts singing.
A song in which both parties, Adekunle Gold and Simi that is, make promises that may very well be their wedding vows. I guess they wanted the fans to bear witness.
The melody of the song is not bad, it is tuneful and quite memorable, it did well to blend with the rhythm of the song to produce a pleasant harmony.
The instrumentals of the song are not bad, they are well varied and balanced, we got a mix of several sounds in the instrumentals. It was not overly aggressive but it acted as an able sidekick to the hero and heroine of the song.
We liked the video, it felt like it was shot during their honeymoon.
Adekunle Gold and Simi are in love (obviously) and they decided to announce this to the whole world and their fans, that is what this song is about.
Love, Love the intro — The beautiful entrance of the lead guitar (the rhythm was really catchy) would surely get your attention. This song could be listed as a soundtrack for any movie around the world.
One thing about love songs (well any genre of music) is the Story telling. The melody of the song was pretty amazing and really memorable.
Adekunle Gold and Simi did a fantastic job with their vocals. The songwriting was perfect without any shadow of doubt.
