Dem dey rush you like yoyo bitters
Time don dey go tea don dey ho
nothing to show for road
Tea for your own o”

It’s crazy how 9ice went from being an A-list Artiste in the Musical Industry to hustling for the spotlight and hit songs. This is to tell you how dynamic the Nigerian Music Industry is. You can Just move from being relevant to irrelevant overnight. In this song, 9ice performs the song in his usual Afro-fusion style, however, have the fans moves past this already? Are they already looking to something new?

Positives

9ice's way of singing is original and unique, you can identify him without any difficulty when you listen to any of his songs and the same can be said for his single titled, Wahala dey.
The melody of the song is enjoyable to some extent. it's nothing fantastic but at least it would score him an average score.

Negatives

9ice being unique and original also means he is not very innovative with his songs. He basically sticks to what he has been doing for a while now and it does not seem to be working. It felt like the last embers of the superstar 9ice is gone and for him to become as relevant as he once was, he will need to do something extraordinary because let's face it, he has been giving us something ordinary without that extra, the same can be said for this song. The fans are not having it, they are basically asking for more efforts, more thoughts from nice and not just him doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result.
The song is short, with repetitive lyrics and lacking any musical depth, it sounded like a "test song" a prototype of some sort before the real songs start getting released.

Bottom Line

If you are hoping to listen to the "Gongo Aso 9ice" then you should just forget it, this is nowhere close or as good as the 9ice we were once crazy about. This song will not even make it to my backup playlist if I had one.
