SONIC TRAINWRECK!
Dear 9ice, enough of the 9ice/ancestor nonsense, just pick one stage name we can call you by so you can stop confusing us. Having said that, 9ice is planning to release a new album sometime this year titled Classic 50. Perhaps some of our previous reviews will be on the track.
Ayo ni starts without an actual intro, well except you decide to count the subtle female voice that said "Olumix".
We were at least able to get the message of the song and how 9ice is trying to protect his joy and positivity.
The melody of the song is just decent, nothing mind-blowing and even at some point, we began to lose interest in the song.
Lyrically Ayo Ni is plagued with some problems, it failed to connect with us even the Yoruba speaking members of our team were feeling disconnected. We had to struggle to actually discern the storyline. While the message of the song is clear, positivity, joy and whatnot, there is no storyline or structure to the lyrics of the song.
A rather lukewarm song from 9ice, for some reasons, he is just not connecting with us. This is perhaps he is focusing on what he wants to sing too much as compared to what the fans want.
