Osabuohien Osaretin was born on March 17, 1989. He’s known for his stage name Sarz, is a Nigerian record producer and musician. He was born in Benin City into a family of 3 children. He attended All Saints Primary School and had his high school education at Goodwill Secondary School. Sarz describes his entry into the music scene as a mistake; attributing his love for music and his ability to remember a beat in detail after hearing it piqued his interest in music production.

In 2010 Sarz, produced the hit single “Jor Oh” and the Remix for Jahbless which featured Durella, RuggedMan, Reminisce, Ice Prince and eLDee. The song won “Best Street Hop” award and was nominated for “Best Collaboration” at The Headies. He produced hits like Shank’s “salute”, eLDee’s “today today” & “wash wash”, skales “mukulu”, Goldie’s “don’t touch my body” & Reminisce’s “Kako bi chicken” which was nominated for best street hop at the headies 2012. In 2012, He went on and like wildfire, he continued to spread. He was immediately called upon to be involved in the EME compilation album, where he made songs like “Get Down Tonight”, “Ko mo le”, “Dance for me” and “My Baby”.
Later in the same year, he solely produced eLDee’s “Undeniable” album (except “We made it”). Sarz got nominated for producer of the year award (NEA) alongside Don Jazzy, although Don Jazzy won the award he ended up giving the award to Sarz saying “No one else deserved it more, considering the hard work Sarz has put in and the number of hits to his credit”. Sarz Later Got nominated and Won the “Producer of the Year award” at the 2012 Dynamix Awards. He then went on to release his first single “Beat Of Life (Samba)” featuring Wizkid off his coming album. The beat of Life instantly became a Nationwide Hit, spreading to the UK, US, South Africa, Ghana, Uganda, Zambia, Kenya, etc. Since the release of this single, beat of life has constantly been on every countdown on every radio station for the past 8months.
In 2013, he produced 2 songs off Wizkid’s Ayo Album, “Jaiye Jaiye” featuring Femi Kuti and “Kilofe”. He was mentioned as one of the five new music producers giving Don Jazzy a run for his money by the Premium Times Nigeria. In the present year, 2013 Sarz continues, producing Hit songs like “Eziokwu” for Lynxxx featuring Ill-Bliss, Ikechukwu and Phyno…And the presently Most sort after “jaiye jaiye” by Wizkid featuring Femi Kuti, it’s obvious that he is no doubt a Force.
He has been nominated for the Producer of the year award (NEA), Song of the year award “Beat of Life” (NEA) and also won the Music Producer of the Year Award (City People Awards 2013)… He won the “Best New Producer” award at the 2012 Dynamix Awards. He went on to release his first single “Beat Of Life (Samba)” featuring Nigerian Artiste, Wizkid off his coming album.
He is easy to be around; he enjoys basketball, hanging out with his friends and his favourite part is being involved or around music. His personal dress style is urban and trendy while his favourite colour is black. Sarz is a Christian and he sees religion has ‘a way of life that gives him a sense of what is right or wrong’.
