Divine Ikubor was born 2001 in Benin City, Edo State in the southern part of Nigeria. He’s known by his stage name Rema, a fast rising Nigeria hop-hop raper, Afro beats, singer, songwriter, stage performer, recording artist and a model. He is currently signed to Mavin Record’s label by Don Jazzy.  He grew up singing and rapping in local churches and schools at a very young age. he was born into a christian family, he had his primary and secondary school certificate in Edo state.

Music Career

He started music early as he raps in his secondary school and church, while still in school, he created his own live band,with his friend Almansur Sa’id known by his stage name Cent and John Peter known by his stage name Alisong. The duo sang in many public places and until Cent decided to face his studies. But not so long until he was discovered by D’Prince who is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Jonzingworld Record and also the immediate younger brother to a Nigerian billonaire artiste Don Jazzy, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mavin Records.

According to the words of D-prince; when i first heard Rema’s work i knew this was an artiste i wanted the entire world to listen to. His talent and atistry are so far beyond his years. He also stated that this will be people with exceptional talents like Rema. He introduced Rema to Don Jazzy and had him sign a contract deal with Mavin Records and Jonzingworld Record in 2018. Meanwhile, he recently released his first hit single “Iron Man” which is currently trending in Nigeria and the rest of the world. Also released another hit called “Dumebi” which is topping on Nigerian’s Music charts.

 

As at this time Dumebi and Iron Man are some of the hottest songs in the Nigerian Music Industry and Hip-hop lovers in the country can’t get enough of these tunes of REMA.
