Charles Enebeli was born 23 October 1986. He’s known by his stage name D’prince is a famous Nigerian Afropop singer, songwriter, recording artist, stage performer, and a model. He is originally from Umuahia in Abia State in the southern part of Nigeria. His father’s name is Collins Enebeli, who is a businessman, a musical production manager and the founder of the label “Sagitarious Productions” while he’s the mother is Patience Enebeli, who is an international business tycoon. He is from an entertainment family and is not a stranger to the music business. He mostly performs in Igbo, English, Yoruba, and Pidgin. He is also known as “Omoba” a Yoruba language means a “Child of a King”. After his primary school education, he attended King’s College in Lagos, Nigeria and obtained his WAEC. After secondary school, he decided to follow his passion for music.
Years Active: 2005 – Present
In 2005, he was asked to join Mo Hits Records after his elder brother Don Jazzy came back from the UK to promote the record label he founded alongside with D’banj in Nigeria. An ever since he joined Mo’ Hits Records in 2005 he has been behind the scenes working on his personal album Frenzy which released under the record label in 2012. In 2007 he recorded a whole lot of songs for Mo’ Hits Records and also Mo’ Hits Records compilation album Curriculum Vitae. The hit singles, “Booty Call”, “Close To You”, “Masquerade”, “Stop The Violence”, “Igbe Mi”, “Hey Girl”, “What You Want To Do To Me”, “Oh No”, which was the lead single.
On 25th November 2009, he realized his hit single titled “Omoba” and it was relaunched in 2010. In 2012 he moved to Mo’ Hits record to Mavins Records after the label name was changed by Don-Jazzy due to disassociation of D’banj from the record label. The same year 2012 he released his first studio album “Star Pelux” with his track like “Take Banana” and “Amarachi”. In 2011 he signed an endorsement deal with telecommunication giant MTN worth millions of naira. In 2013, he renewed the contract he signed with MTN reportedly worth millions of naira.
In 2010 he was nominated for the most promising Act to Watch at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards and Next Rated Artiste at the Headies Awards. In 2011, he was nominated for Best Pop Single and Song of the Year at the Headies. In 2013, he was nominated for Best Pop Single at the Headies Awards.
He had a child with Sharon Oparacho, a graduate of Coventry University in the UK.
