Alright, music lovers, it’s no longer news that On the 6th of December 2019, Starboy entertainment surprised fans as they released without prior notice a seven-track ep titled ‘Soundman Vol 1’ which featured top artists, music producers, and Dj. Alright, Starboy fans, Soundstroke gives you an exclusive review of the SoundMan Ep. let’s get to it.
If you're going on a vacation with your partner, this ep should be included in the playlist. It seems StarBoy entertainment was very intentional about this move, they wanted to try something different. The sounds on this project are more African at the same time have that global sound in it. The production on this ep is quite impressive as live instruments were used on some tracks, maybe that's why he featured the creators of this sounds (Kel-P, London, Blaq Jerzee)
The vocal delivery is top-notch, the artists on these tracks were professional in their delivery, even though they sounded very comfortable, particularly Wizkid, I mean the music itself is comfortable. The lyrics are quite above average, Starboy has definitely improved his writing skills.
Some of the tracks SoundStroke suggest you listen to are
Track 1- Jam (feat. Wizkid & Chronixx), Track 4 - Mine (feat. Wizkid & Kel-P), Track 5 - Electric (feat. Wizkid & London), Track 6 - Ease Your Mind (feat. Wizkid & Kel-P)
This ep is more like StarBoy's entertainment testing the waters with different sounds, which in the process, most tracks ended sounding regular. The songs in the ep, though have that global feel, might still be hard breaking into the international scene. SoundMan ep might just be a distraction. with the intention to make his fans forget about the made in Lagos album which is still yet to be released.
Thinking of updating your playlist? StarBoy's 'Soundman' is definitely your go-to.
