Plot Synopsis

A blend of Afro-pop, Alternate, and RnB.

New kid on the block, Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay who recently got the attention of music lovers with his different alternate Afro vibe, has released his five-track debut ep, titled, “Get Layd”. Scroll down to read our impression on this project.

Positives

It's safe to say that the Port-Harcourt born singer, Omah Lay might just be the next big thing in the industry. At first, listen, we knew this was something not regular. The fusion of the contemporary Afro-sounds with alternate RnB is very impressive, From the opening of the Ep 'Damn' to the closing melody 'Ye Ye Ye', Omah Lay proved to us that he has the ability to unbox several sounds. 'Get Layd' has that simple, melancholic, warm feel with contents for everyone, this project is that new sound most listeners are probably looking for.

Negatives

'Get Layd' has that deep Sad feel in it, even though the vocals sounded exciting at some point, the project largely sounded like an artist drowning in his problems, love, and anxiety. Several plays of this ep might give you mood swings.
