Plot Synopsis

An Ep about Love!

Joeboy is one of the new generation artists that is making waves in the music scene, he got the attention of many after releasing his single, ‘Baby’, after which he released a follow-up track, ‘Begining’ which transformed him from just a singer to a musical light in Africa. With the release of these tracks, it is common to come up with an ep, what we didn’t expect was a five-track ep from the fast-rising singer. In November 2019, Joeboy released his debut ep which he titled, ‘Love and Light’ on streaming platforms.

Positives

Love and Light is an ep targeted for love birds, with soft vocals from Joeboy, melodies instrumentals, romantic lyrics, it is safe to say this is an ep that you wat to play at a wedding reception, at least some of the songs for the newly wedded couple, lol.

It is not strange that after two to three hit singles an artist have in the industry, an ep or an album is the next thing. Joeboy went for an ep instead and deliberately released five tracks of which two was already making waves. The additional tracks were sounds we predicted Joeboy was going to make. The ep showed Joeboy as that playboy who would do anything to get a girl. The ep started on a groovy note and transcended to a light ending.

The vocal delivery, lyrics, structure, production, and organization is above average. Joeboy was wise or we would say lucky enough to have good instrumentals from talented/raving producers and mix engineers. Some of the tracks we would recommend are
Track 3 - (Don't Call Me Back ft Mayoukun)
Track 4 - (All For You)

Negatives

After several plays, the tracks started to sound alike. The five-track ep is a lazy way to enter the industry, it seemed Joeboy is testing waters with this.
